Forum Vocational Teaching Methodology

On March 9 and 10, 2017, representatives of various universities and professional disciplines in Rostock met for the first time to exchange ideas on current concepts of the professional didactic training of vocational school teachers.

Programme:

In two contributions to the plenum, the focus was placed on the interdisciplinary challenges in the vocational teaching methodology:

1. Prof. Dr. Klaus Jenewein, Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg: "To the self-understanding of occupational subject didactics in the field of tension of vocational education, occupational sciences and specialist science."

2. Ingrid Hotarek, University of Education, Tyrol: “University-didactic aspects of didactic professionalization. Implementation of research-based learning in the commercial/technical education of vocational school teachers at the University of Education, Tyrol.”

The exchange was deepened in four forums, which focused on specific aspects of the conception of the seminars and courses of study. The focus here was on the four professional disciplines which can be studied at the University of Rostock: Agriculture, electrical engineering, information technology and metal technology. Each forum was introduced by an impulse contribution.

The two-day event was funded by means of the Prorector for the Study, Teaching and Evaluation of the University of Rostock. Responsibility for the preparation, implementation and follow-up of the conference was at the Institute for Vocational Education.
